Why I Love What I Do

Horses are stunning animals in their own right, and we often end up taking a million photos of them. If your phone camera roll is anything like mine, it is mostly filled with horses and the goofy things that they do. But what about us? What about those special bonding moments where they let you hold their head, or just allow you to sit there while they graze? Or shows and events, surrounded by other like-minded people, the pony pets, praises, and good time scritches. These are the moments that I aim to capture.

Having been a horse lover all my life, I know how magic a bond is with your horse. It's not often seen, and is much harder to explain. We are often so caught up in trying to catch them in all their beauty, that we forget about our role in their lives as well. Capturing that loving bond is always my goal, to share and spread the love of these outstanding animals that let us do endless things with them.

While equine photography is my main focus and passion, I do also do other kind of photoshoots! I started off with landscape and nature photos, as well as dragging my son out for a shoot every once in awhile. Just reach out to find out more!

Why Half Halt Photography?

In riding, a half halt is used to balance and reconnect the horse and the rider. The horse keeps moving forward, but is ready and prepared for what is about to come next. It is about keeping on forward, but in better speed, balance, and focus. In life I often think how we need to take some half halts ourselves, to keep moving forward in better balance and mindset. Photography is that balance to me, that little half halt that we all need from time to time.
